A Masterpiece of Our Love - Nikki Lynn Barrett (Review)

First, I want to say thank you to Nikki for gifting me a copy of her new release. And before I get into this book, it's currently on sale for 99cents! Don't miss this sale!

Eight-year-old Becca and twelve-year-old Hunter cling to each other and life after surviving a plane crash which stole their families.

Two Souls Seeking Love.

Each year, from the time she was old enough to travel on her own, Becca met up with Hunter on the island that altered their lives forever.

Until he stopped showing.

Her constant. Her link to the past. Gone in the blink of an eye.

Two Lives Bound by Secret.

Suffering more heartbreak, Hunter returns to the one place he’s always sought comfort, the island where he and Becca met. It was the place that stole from him, and in the same instance gave to him. He hasn't been back or spoken to Becca in four years.

Though he’s sure she must hate him for disappearing, Hunter discovers the girl gone, now a woman in her place. Hunter is determined to prove to Becca he isn’t the same twelve-year-old boy of yesteryear.

But someone isn't happy about their reunion...

Strange things begin happening. Letters start showing up in their hotel rooms and at home with cryptic messages.

Two Broken Hearts Heal as One.

With the mystery unsolved, Hunter convinces Becca to spend the remainder of the summer back home with him, both for safety and to give them a chance to discover the adults they’ve now become.

Will love get a chance to blossom, or will the past come back and tear the masterpiece of their love apart once and for all?

Cover Reveal - The Professor, With Love by Linda Kage (Giveaway)

To Professor, With Love
Forbidden Men #2
By: Linda Kage

Blurb
Junior in college. Star athlete. Constant attention from the opposite sex.

On this campus, I’m worshiped. While seven hundred miles away, back in my hometown, I’m still trailer park trash, child of the town tramp, and older sibling to three kids who are counting on me to keep my shit together so I can take them away from the same crappy life I grew up in.

These two opposing sides of myself never mix until one person gets a glimpse of the true me. I never expected to connect with anyone like this or want more beyond one night. This may be the real deal.

Problem is, Dr. Kavanagh’s my literature professor.

If I start anything with a teacher and we’re caught together, I might as well kiss my entire future goodbye, as well as my family’s, and especially Dr. Kavanagh’s. Except sometimes love is worth risking everything. Or at least, it damn well better be because I can only resist so much.

Guest: Mina Carter - The Reaper and the Cop (Giveaway)

Mina Carter is also hanging out with me today to talk about her new release as well!

****

I like to write about different situations, or similar situations wrapped up with a different twist on things. Liberty, Oakwood is one such situation. It was a normal little town. The kind of place a burnt out homicide detective like Troy returns home to.

But Liberty isn’t your normal little town. Something changed a year ago and now it’s attracting all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures. The girl serving you coffee? Dryad. The mail man? Could be a were-dragon, could be a faery.

Troy is as human as it gets, as is the rest of the police department, so for the last year they’ve been getting a quick education in the paranormal. So, Troy and the rest have learnt to be pretty open-minded. They’ve learnt that those old wives’ tales might just be the best defence they have.

Nothing is what it seems, yet everything looks the same. It’s enough to send a man mad trying to figure it out…

Guest: Jennifer James - What The Eff is a Phooka? (Giveaway)

Please welcome Jennifer James to the blog today! She's got a hot new release to tell you all about!

What the Eff is a Phooka?
I got that question a lot when I did the cover art reveal for PEYTON’S RIDE. I love shape shifters, but being that I tend to take a simple idea and twist it up into a strange perversion….I like shifters who are the run of the mill werewolf or were-(insert big cat breed) here.

I also really love all things Celtic. Knotwork, weaponry, language…kilts. Men in kilts. *GRIN* So of course I enjoy researching the Fae.

Spotlight: Retribution: Silent Death by Denyse Bridger

Adam Walker is one of the Company’s best field agents, a highly trained, well-honed killing machine when that’s what’s needed. But, he’s also a man of many secrets, and one of them is that he’s a ninja, one of Japan’s mythical death warriors. When another of Adam’s secrets, his lover Kiku, is killed, he turns to the one person he trusts, fellow agent Shainna Barton. While Shainna covers for him on a mission, Adam metes out his revenge, and discovers that his friendship with Shainna has a much deeper meaning that either of them ever realized…

SORM excerpt
Tired of the confines of her office, and in need of a little night air, Kiku Shimoda emerged from the rear exit of the small Kabuki Theater, a place she owned and operated in the theater district of London, England. She didn’t find the soothing peace she wanted. Instead, she found herself shivering in the unnatural quiet permeating the night. Stillness filled the dark, made it static. She heard none of the busy sounds that normally dominated the night and made it pulse with intangible life. She hugged herself and looked around. There was no one else present. The theater was empty, for she’d bid the last of the employees goodnight almost an hour earlier. She stood in the doorway, frozen by indecision,
faced once again with a fear to which she had grown happily unaccustomed to experiencing since arriving in the U.K.
He was late.
