Interview with Tamaria Soana and her new release Southern Embrace

Today I have Tamaria Soana on the blog for a little Q&A on her new release Southern Embrace.

Southern Embrace is a story that is very dear to your heart and the journey of getting this book written to published hasn’t been easy. Tell us a little about it?

I originally wrote Southern Embrace about a year and half ago. It was contracted by a Publisher that folded two days before it was to release. At this point it was only 8,000 words. I was giving a second chance with this story. After rereading it I decided to added almost 10,000 words that I believed only strengthened the story. To say I was thrilled that Beachwalk Press contracted it would be a major understatement!

You've done something different with this story. Instead of giving Savannah one hero in her life, you've given her two. In fact, both of them where men the reader could like. And Lance, the main hero, he has to redeem himself (the best type of romance). Did you have fun making him grovel and were you at all worried while writing that Savannah wouldn't forgive him?

This was a very different type of story line for me to tackle. Having two men that are both very likable was hard. I hated having to kill Stephan. I cried buckets writing that chapter 1.

Lance, well he is just all that and a bag of chips. And yes it was fun to write such a slow burn and making him wait for it ;).

Never in my mind was Savannah not going to forgive Lance. It was all about taking her through an emotional journey that she would grow from as a woman.

Life sometimes isn’t easy and what’s meant for you can be staring you right in the face.

Tell us a little about Savannah's best friend and the role she plays in this story.

Creating Nikki was a blast. I patterned her after one of my close friends named Nikki of course. This book is dedicated to her also.

As a woman I know how important having close friends is especially one that tells you like it is and doesn’t sugar coat when you need a swift kick in the ass. Nikki to me is everything a good friend should be.

Now for a little fun:
Savannah - what is your favorite feature that Lance has?
His eyes. I feel when he looks at me he sees right into my soul.

Lance - same question.
Savannah is just beautiful in every way, so this is a tough one. I’d have to say her ability to love with all she has.

Savannah - Looking back at your journey, is there anything you'd change?
No! It wasn’t an easy journey, but sometimes the things in that don’t come easy are the most rewarding.

Lance - same question.
Looking back I didn’t think I could love her any more than I did in High School, but getting to know the woman she’s become…well she’s just amazing in every way!

Savannah - Favorite place to go on date night?
I’m a homebody, so just a quiet night at home is perfect.

Lance - Favorite place to take her on a date night?
Anywhere with Savannah!

Can a long lost love mend a grieving heart?

Widowed at twenty-three, Savannah Grant is devastated and consumed with grief, a grief that she can't seem to move past. When her high school sweetheart, Lance Peterson, re-enters her life, Savannah struggles with the feeling that she would be betraying her deceased husband by moving on. Plus, she can't forget the way Lance broke her heart all those years ago.

Lance never stopped loving Savannah. He wants a second chance, and he's willing to do anything it takes to convince her to give him one. Will she give in and let Lance love her, showing her a passion beyond anything she thought possible?

I've cried while killing off characters. You love them and when they have to be sacrificed--ugh.

Not sure if the comment that I left through rafflecopter went through, so I am leaving another!

I have to say that I read half of Southern Embrace while at the doctor with my son, with tears rolling down my face!
